If my title is offensive ~ ~ so be it! My thoughts are not personal. I merely suggest we have some (just a few) dissidents among us, and we must stand up to them.
I have been concentrating on the National scene for a while, as it has become so interesting and somewhat entertaining. But I love Thurman and do not want to be constantly deriding my neighbors. However, there are those that embody personal feelings against some of our Board members; and their immaturity and selfish demeanor seems to overtake their decisions and actions.
A recent comment on the previous article hit the spot in many ways, and while I do agree with the intentions, I do not consider any to be against our Supervisor, and I know it was not.
How can we expect anyone with the determination and love for our town that is within Cynthia Hyde, to preside with compassion and intelligence over the ridiculous attitudes and actions of the Board which she chairs. With over ten (10) years of service to our Town, I applaud her, respect her, and strongly support her.
The Election we have coming in November should be a telling one about the voters and residents of Thurman. If we do not make the necessary changes on our Board, we can no longer blame anyone but ourselves.
I hear so many complaints from Thurmanites, but see few at the monthly meetings. Perhaps I, and others like me, should show up anyway just to show physical support. Public comments are invited.
Let our Board, and those individuals on the ballot this year, know that we care. Let them feel the concern and compassion we have for the thankless job they are doing and hope to do pending the outcome of voting in November.
A few hours a month should not be a tremendous burden on us. We spend more than that daily on our cell phones!!
" ... good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise ...", I will make every attempt to attend the next meeting, and many there after.
Stay well friends and neighbors. Enjoy our small section of the World, and appreciate the weather and beauty.
