Democratic Socialist Liberals are dividing our Country. But that's not news, is it? Every day they find something to criticize, even if it is their own words from a previous time.
Today, they criticize the implementation of a law that has been on the books for the administrations of at least the last three Presidents.
It is a practice that has been occurring in our Courts, in our Social Services departments, and several various domestic custody battles. The area they have picked on now is no other than the one place we are vulnerable to the influx of unsavory people into the Nation wherein you and I reside.
Our Government is trying to protect our border from the many, many undesirables that attempt to sneak in any way they can.. Even if it means using children. Are you thinking the previous Presidents didn't enact these same laws. Oh, they most certainly did, but you didn't hear about it.
Let us not forget the old adage " ... treat the disease, not the symptom ...".. Well, in this case, the disease is the parents that allow their children to be carried across the border by unsavory people. Or the parents that take money to let these people use their child as a way to get in, and expect to be reunited when they themselves get across.
Congress has been lax, very lax, in any attempt to solve this problem. It has become extremely obvious that the Democratic Liberals want to please the immigrants, to give them citizenship, the right to vote, anything they want, just to get them here, and have their vote. It is certainly easier to control those that have not had the freedoms and liberties in their home Country, to help them realize what is wrong.
All they think about is their Party. They no longer care about their constituents other than to keep their vote. So they will say and do anything for that, even it's to lie. I speak mostly of the Democratic side of the aisle, although I am quite aware the two major Parties have both Liberal and Conservative members. These are the lawmakers blocking our Nation from going forward.
The Democratic Liberals of whom I speak act only to preserve their financial status, their power and authority over those they consider lesser than they. Those they consider 'stupid', deplorable', 'un-educated.'.
These people are obsessive liars. They are 'control freaks', obsessed with having everything go their way.
One wonders, is Juan Williams, a commentator on Fox News "The Five", a Liberal Democrat? Is he part of the alumni of "Eli", or is he just a mediocre graduate of a mediocre college? I am surprised to note the many men and women of "color", including Juan of course, that have joined forces with the very party that has, for years, kept them down. There aren't too many "Liberal-birthing" Universities. One only hears about those that have achieved a notoriety for their nonsense-spouting of ridiculous theories that do nothing for the Democratic Republic that we embrace.
These people are very anti-government if it doesn't fall in line with their agenda. They seem to forget this very Government is the one that gave them the opportunities they enjoyed to put their children through notable colleges; who could afford the costs. The costs were kept high to control the status of the student body.
We, as the lowly middle class, educated in smaller local universities, must not assume that an education obtained at a 'up-scale' university, is any better. The level of education depends on the person being educated.
Being a part of the "Country Club' level of Society, with tennis courts in the back yard, and putting greens also, can not, and should not put one any higher than deserved on the Social Strata..
President Obama and First Lady Michelle, were put there by their backers, and the Media.. However, one wonders why their education and social backgrounds are sealed and blocked from the public.
Will we ever know the true background of these two? I don't think so! Not in our lifetime. Just as right now, in this day and age, we are learning facts about the Kennedy assassination fifty three (53) years later.

Whether it be Local, or Washington, D.C., does anyone know who is running the show?
I am bewildered, and at the same time, fearful, of our status as a Nation of Freedoms and Liberties. If we at the Local level cannot control our Government officers, then at least perhaps we should be able to take a lesson from the National level, to avoid corruption, and demand honest leadership.
Thurman appears to be a microcosm of Washington. We have our Seaman, supported by Ackley and Needham, and Washington has its' Schumer, Pelosi, and Mueller/Comey et al. Is there any among these that I refer to, that have not been overly hypocritical, have not manipulated words and laws, to be in their own selfish interest?
I fear we have become too expectant of our leaders to maintain the responsibility we have put upon them; they must remember, above all, they are there to work FOR us, to be fair and transparent, to be unselfish in their decisions, and do what is best for their Constituents and our Nation. We who pay their salaries and put them in their respective offices of authority, must find a way to let them know, once and for all, we will no longer sit back and accept the life they forge for us. We must adamantly, and forcefully let them know, in no uncertain terms, that this, the United States of America, is a Nation " ... OF THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE, AND BY THE PEOPLE ... ". That we are guided by, and fully accept the Constitution given to us by our Founders.
This Nation was built on the sweat and tears of working men and women; who were not afraid to stand up for their values and their Christian Judeo way of life. They did not depend on the Government to support them; only to protect them from outside forces that sought to take over this abundant land.
They (parents) raised their children within the Law and did not depend on the Government to police their child-rearing decisions. The Government would only step in if the parents became irresponsible, and the children suffered. Otherwise, the family ruled the family, within the Laws of the State.
We have those among us who condemn all Religions, and those who condemn all but their own; they who dare to circumvent our Religious rights, expect, no DEMAND!, the Government adopt their way of worship for all. This sector also believes the Religion has power over the Government; that Government and Religion are as one. Our Constitution strongly opposes this action. Our Constitution strongly supports the right to observe and practice whatever Religion one chooses.
I believe the previous Administration attempted to adopt the ways of 'Religion over Government'.
The attempts to overcome that, in the recent Government election, fostered three different solutions.
One was of a more Populist or Conservative rule; basically for the rights and power of the people. The original Populist Party was started for the Farmers and Laborers of the Nation.
Another was of one World government, with no borders, no physical geographical constraints. This would have one World Body ruling all on the Planet.
I don't believe it would take a rocket scientist to soon realize that would not work on this huge Planet of ours with so much diversity.
A third was a Socialist rule. To attempt to rule by Socialism would go very much against all Democratic principles; all that our Constitution fostered. All that many, many, over the Centuries, have given their lives to maintain. I do agree that a Socialist rule has many positive facets. But Socialism, I feel, is too much for the total Government rule over Society. We would basically lose most of our rights as individuals; sharing the wealth and land with all. Human values and principles, the basic Human drive to survive, the Human need to be independent, would not support such a way of life.
Furthermore, it has been shown in many Societies over the Centuries, that Socialism does not conform to the very Human instincts that is borne within all.
Getting back to my original question: WHO IS IN CHARGE??
We all are. Each as individuals, as residents within this great Nation, as a people seeking self rule, as a people with a strong desire to remain as one under one Constitution. That is who is in charge!
It is time to pick up the Flag. Run the gauntlet. Let the self indulgent among us be damned. This is our Country, and we will not waste the lives of those gone before. We will not waste the actions of those brave people. We will honor their sacrifice. We will commend their words.
Many of our young have been indoctrinated into values that go against our principles as a people and as a Nation. I believe this has been accomplished by distortion, or downright lies, and manipulation of our History. This has been a very long process, a very deliberate mission, to subvert our Nation. I strongly believe the Liberal factor within our people is responsible for this state we find ourselves in today.
The very land we exist on is rich in natural resources, very well situated on the coastlines of two major Oceans, and very accessible to the very Northern hemisphere. Trade routes abound. Geographically I would venture the North America Continent to be extremely desirable. That, in my opinion, is basically the reason for the outside attempts to overtake our Government and rule.
As a Nation that has gained strength and respect as a self-ruled people, we must once again, as centuries before, take up the battle to save our Democratic Republic.
Starting at the Local level may be the best way to begin. It may even be the only way. The first step must be taken to start the long trek. You don't climb a mountain by taking a helicopter to the summit. Take the first step off the road, and go from there.
Take back our Country, our Nation, our way of life.

And I will take this opportunity to apologize. There is no excuse for rude 'outcries' at public Town meetings.
And while there is no excuse, I must say, in explanation, that I, as a very impatient person, fell into the category of being publicly rude, on last evening, June 13, 2018.
I do not like it in myself, and I do not like it in others.
After observing the behavior of Councilwoman Gail Seaman, for close to a half hour before the Town meeting last night (June 13, 2018), and the ensuing behavior she exhibited during the meeting, I make no excuses for my own behavior, only the apology to my then present friends and neighbors.
At one point I called out to Mrs. Seaman, and Mr. Tom Randall, of the Sun publication, looked at me and shouted "Shut Up"!....."we in the press cannot hear ... ". Did not Mr. Randall realize that Mrs. Seaman herself was adding to the clamor? I touched his upper arm, to get his attention, and told him not to say that to me. At which point Mrs. Seaman shouted " ... she hit him! Call the Sheriff! ...... she assaulted the Press ... "!
It is hard to realize this kind of behavior within our Thurman Town Meetings. The recent videos, which I depend on for myself, depicts much animosity, but does not compare to witnessing it in person.
I was appalled at the behavior of Mrs. Seaman. She spoke almost constantly when-ever Supervisor Hyde attempted to say something, either in dissent, or correction, or just a plain denial.
Prior to the meeting when I approached Mrs. Hyde to speak personally, Mrs. Seaman interrupted to tell me I should sit down, and couldn't approach the table. Her obviously inflated sense of importance started to rile me at that time.
It carried through the entire meeting as her outbursts toward Supervisor Hyde became constant.
Several others spoke during the "privilege of the floor", and it seemed apparent that many others have also become weary and impatient with the constant harassing of our Supervisor by Mrs. Seaman.
During the time Mrs. Hyde sat as the Town Clerk (8 years), when Mrs. Seaman sat as Councilwoman under the Supervisory tenure of Ms. Wood; she and Ms. Wood were constantly, (just about every meeting) harassing Mrs. Hyde; accusing her of typing errors, misspelling, misrepresenting dialogue in her minutes, and any other little discrepancies they could find, and they looked for something every month.
I do not intend to attend any future meetings while Mrs. Seaman and her two lackeys also sit. My good health is sensitive to such irritation.
I have been approached by others sitting at the meeting, who wished to discuss this ridiculous behavior of Mrs. Seaman, and what could be done about it.
The forcefulness of her voice would indicate she knows of what she speaks; but I, and several other citizens, are very much aware of the actual occurrences' for the past five or six years under Supervisor Wood; and most all have documents that would prove Mrs. Seaman wrong.
Referring to the so-called "contract" with Rainbow Network services, in relation to White Space Services, Mrs. Seaman is wrong about the existence of same, and who responded in reference to it; Ms. Wood, as Supervisor, made the statement verbally at a Town Meeting, and also quite possibly in a statement to the Post Star, that she did not feel we needed a contract for this particular project. While at the same time, Mr. Engleman, owner of Network Services, offered to sign an agreement with the Town.
Just one small example of the gross discrepancies of Mrs. Seaman's many statements.
Mrs. Seaman's behavior, in my opinion, is beyond rude, beyond disgusting, and could also be considered very disrespectful to our Town Supervisor, and of course to the residents of Thurman. The attitude of Ms. Ackley, in the tone of her answers to the Supervisor, are also quite disrespectful and antagonistic.
I would also like, at this time, to comment on the continuance of Mr. Doug Needham in his position as Councilman on our Town Board, in spite of his unforgivable vile posting on FACEBOOK. Prior to the meeting several women, and men, were outside the Town Hall with signs protesting his remaining in his seat. This, my friends, is a gross disrespect to all residents of Thurman. How can one possibly justify his presence. I would respectfully suggest that the Supervisor investigate her ability to remove him. Of course, if she needs a vote to do so, I would proffer that Mrs. Seaman, and Ms. Ackley, would have no qualms about going against the Supervisor and allowing this supposed disgusting human being remain as a person who has the responsibility to make decisions for our Town, and we as individuals.
Many commented that Thurman has become the "laughing stock" of the County". This is very true. And it only started with the election of Ms. Wood, and has been carried in this year, 2018, with Mrs. Seaman returning.
Last year, 2017, a new Board was moving along nicely, tending to and dealing with the issues left in disarray by Ms. Wood and Mrs. Seaman, although Mrs. Seaman continued her rude public behavior as a resident in the audience.
Does anyone know of a "swamp-cleaner" who can help Thurman??????

I am a 25 year citizen of Thurman, N.Y. Previously a 10 year part timer. Born and raised in Newburgh, N.Y., and spent most of my adult life (35 yrs) living and working on Long Island and in New York City.
Many of my readers are aware of that, and some even consider me still an outsider, or 'flatlander', if you will, but I don't mind that at all. And for those of you that don't know me, I feel you should know that in spite of my current move back to Long Island, I will remain a part-time resident here, and will always consider Thurman as a home.
It has been so disheartening for me to see the radical change that has taken place here in this beautiful, quiet 'get-away' from the hustle and bustle of the larger areas of our State, and our Nation.
To those of you that have been here your entire life, don't take it for granted! To those who have not traveled too far from home, know that the world beyond Warren County is really not so bad, nor is it perfect.
In comparison, the twelve month climate is very acceptable, and the 'safety' of the area, from the ravaging storms, and the high crime areas in the Cities, is something I will miss.
And what I regret most is not being able to help deter the evil that we here in Thurman have been experiencing. I will still have this Blog, and will keep avidly in touch.
What is desperately needed is a more active involvement by the residents of Thurman. This Town is an exceptional place, know that all. Especially those of you that have not ventured beyond the borders of the North Country.
There are those who move to this area and attempt to make changes to the tranquility and peace that has been here for centuries. What they are doing is fighting the change in their lives that is scaring them. They want to bring with them the ways of life that they had become so familiar with. So, why did they move, you ask?
Well, I can only venture that possibly they became attracted to the peace, quiet, and beauty of this place where they may have spent vacations and visits.
Does that not indicate they wanted the best of both worlds? Well, that is not always possible, is it?
One must make choices in life; the hard included.
Our move to Long Island at this time, may not be temporary. We do not know. We can only take one day at a time and see what the Fates have in store for us.
Speaking of the 'Fates', I have been disappointed the way many in this Town have attempted to defy the "Fates".
Thurman is a small community. Many neighbors have known each other their entire lives. It is not necessary to love or like everyone, but sticking together as a community, and like a family, is so very important in this ever-changing world of technology; of easier and faster communication and travel.
And while communication and travel are becoming simpler, we must always remain close as friends, as family, and as neighbors. We need each other. We need the security and confidence of togetherness.
With all this in mind, I ask that all the residents of Thurman begin having dialogue that is not nasty as we have seen lately. Sit down and talk to each other in a civil manner. Name-calling and personal attacks are not necessary, nor are they a part of the beauty and peace we have here in the North Country.
In-fighting is definitely not warranted. To those of you that depend on vile, personal attacks; I say take your nonsense elsewhere; or just stay in your own little corner of the World. Do not spread the venom of nasty language, and personal attacks through-out this wonderful community.
Our Town Board should be a place of exchanging thoughts and ideas; of working together in peace and harmony to do what is right for our Town, not for any individual. Council members must keep in mind they are a "collective" of residents, whose sole responsibility is to their neighbors. No one person has all the answers; no one person should dictate their views on others.
Instead of personal attacks, nasty accusations, and vile language, communicate thoughtful opinions and ideas.
Work for each other! Work with each other! Work for Thurman!

Gail Seaman is not stupid; but I believe her system of disruptive behavior could sure use some refining.
Her rude behavior, and her strong public outcry of opposition to anything done by Supervisor Hyde, should be more thought out. But I am not going to elaborate here. I don't want to give any hints or support to this highly mis-informed individual.
In my opinion Mrs. Seaman does not have the proper demeanor to lead this community. The friendly attitude is obviously not sincere in my opinion. And the strong 'controlling attitude tone' is certainly not acceptable.
The childish habit of "faces", "eye-rolling" and "head shaking" during the Board meetings, and the verbal postings on FACEBOOK, do not belong in the playbook of someone trying to get the vote of confidence from the public. The publicly rude behavior is also not exactly a plus.
Doug Needham should also hear and know the disgust he has brought out in his neighbors with his vile posting on FACEBOOK.
I sincerely hope that we have a goodly count of folks at the rally tomorrow night (June 13, 2018 at 6:00 PM), outside the Town Hall, and the Town Board meeting following at 6:30 PM.
We need body numbers at these events to show Mrs. Seaman, and also Mr. Doug Needham, that their behavioral attitudes are not acceptable to our community.

It is common knowledge that Gail Seaman has a burning desire to be Supervisor of the Town of Thurman. I believe it is more an obsession than 'desire'. Here we appear to have an exaggerated Narcissistic attitude exhibited by a "wanna-be" person that has always had the egotistical impression of a higher step on the ladder of success for herself.
Of course, this is all my own personal opinion. You have yours; and if you agree with mine you will certainly do something to avoid the repetition of the years under Evelyn Wood.
Ms. Wood also had her own visions of power and control. But underneath that it was obvious to see the lack of self-confidence that was firmly planted in her head, as is usually found in the subconscious of anyone obsessed with control and power. This allowed the influence of Gail Seaman to lead her into the decisions and attitudes that brought about her downfall. The two of them together, in my opinion, were a very destructive force in Thurman.
Washington D.C. has its' "swamp", and Thurman has its' murky woodlands.
Only a Town working together can overcome such a formidable force. The Town Board that was in place during the year 2017, had a hefty plate of botched issues to resolve. They tackled the most important first; that being the 'salt-infiltrated' water that found its' way into many residents' homes and businesses'.
The finances are another muddy and nasty problem. Right in the middle of attempts to get to the bottom of our financial situation, the sitting Board in 2017, saw the rude and disruptive behavior of Mrs. Seaman, as a member of the public in attendance.
Following that we witnessed the underhanded and devious change in the Town Board. I feel this was the doing of Gail Seaman, counting on, and receiving, the votes of less than half of the eligible voters in Thurman. Yes, lack of voter participation, along with voter empathy, and disinterest of residents, allowed Mrs. Seaman and her two lackeys to sneak onto the Board, and totally disrupt the core of our Town, the Town Board.
It appears she will stop at nothing to achieve her goal of sitting as the Chairperson on the Board; better known as the Supervisor.
Is that not true of most anyone in public office? The pull of power and authority is so strong, that they seeking such, will do whatever it takes to achieve it.
Our reputation as a Town is sinking further and further into the muck and mire of a swamp. Our property values are below the National averages. We are considered a depressed area by the Internal Revenue department.
Some in Thurman think that is positive, and will keep taxes down.
Try selling your house and see how Thurman has declined in attracting folks. Ask the people who don't want anyone moving here from the outside, what is their motivation? Could it possibly be a selfish attempt to keep it all to themselves? Well, what happens when these self-motivated individuals are no longer with us? Will there be anyone left in Thurman, or will it be a wasteland?
It is possible to maintain the peace and quiet, and also invite and welcome others to share it. Don't let fear of change affect the future of Thurman.
Work with our Supervisor, help her fight off the onslaught of the power hungry forces.
Jean Frances Coulard June 8, 2018
Being a cloudy, cool day, I decided to read some of the headlines while drinking my coffee. (Normally I only read that in which I may have an interest). Today I wish I had followed that routine.
Reading the many comments by mostly Female persons, I am embarrassed, and apologetic to the memory of my Mother. The only curse word I ever heard her utter was "damn"; and my Fathers' favorite expression was " ... Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, and the twelve Apostles ... "!
My Parents weren't heavy into the Church, but they were very devout Christians (Catholic). We, their Children, were sent to the School within our Parish, and taught by Nuns.
Of course, girls did not wear slacks to Church or to School. And we had to wear a hat in Church. The boys had to wear a shirt and tie to Church and had to take their hat off! At the dinner table, as well as publicly, the girls could not wear anything too revealing, and the guys always had to have a shirt on. (not just an undershirt). And hats were not allowed at the table.
Some of you may be laughing at these rules of behavior, but they did serve their purpose. First, I believe it was indicative of respect for others. It also taught us to discipline and respect ourselves, as well as listen to our Parents.
Unfortunately, the so-called entertainers today appear to have lost all reason and self-respect. The nasty retorts, the gruesome language, and the gestures, when viewed in History, will be indicative of our current Society. What a legacy to leave to our grandchildren and folks of the future.
Such respect and discipline as seen in decades past, I believe, does not exist today. All that can be seen with the generations that are up-coming, are selfish poor-me attitudes; youngsters so spoiled they literally could not survive without Mommy or Daddy. Their faces and fingers are constantly stuck to the cell phone, or the video games. Been a long time since I witnessed anyone reading a book or having a conversation with someone.
It's interesting to see, in a restaurant, folks having dinner and talking on their cell phones.
Yesterday, we went to a popular restaurant for lunch; there was a table next to us with five people, and three of them were reading the cell phone.
Face to face communication is necessary for the perpetuation of our Society. Ideas are exchanged, opinions and knowledge are shared, and memories are passed on.
Back before writing tablets with pen and pencil, and recording devices of any kind, there was a unique way of maintaining History. A method used by the Native American Indians, which depended on the eldest of women in the tribe aptly named "she who remembers", and it was the only way History could be passed on. Not too exacting of course, but better than nothing. And I am sure that because the importance of keeping the History of the Tribes was considered a serious and responsible effort, the spoken words were kept as truthful as possible.
Hopefully, some parents as I see it, are becoming more aware of the current addiction to communication devices. Restrictions of time and place for use are being put to action.
Too much is lost to interpretation when a 'text' is sent instead of talking person to person. And the popular abbreviations used in texting could possibly cause much of our language to be distorted, or even completely forgotten.
If parents of today care as much as they say, then tough love should be forthcoming. Forget about "sparing the rod". Educate the child, prepare them for the future. Let your example be their lesson.
Jean Frances Coulard June 3, 2018
I am referring, in the title, to the many Liberals residing in our Nation, and serving in our Government. I have friends, neighbors, and relatives that I consider 'good' Liberals. I am also acquainted with others who are 'bad', and I see many publicly that are just plain 'ugly'.
I consider the 'good' to be those who want only for the Government to care equally for ALL citizens; to help those in need, and to curb the evil in others.
The 'bad' are those, in my opinion, who take advantage of the laws enacted by the 'good', for their own benefit. And those in our entertainment sector, that use their public persona and popularity to further their agenda of selfishness, to continue keeping their 'face' on the front page; and basically keep them in our minds.
Now that leaves us with the 'ugly'. In that catagory I would put the Government elected, appointed, and employed, that seek the benefits of our great Nation only for themselves; those in Government who influence the Lawmakers, and who pretend to work for the downtrodden as a guise, in order to obtain their vote.
The language, the behavior, the antics of those who publicly voice their disgusting ideals and words would not be present if we, the public, did not accept their presence so much. They rely on ratings to maintain their affluent and lavish life. And the ratings, of course, are supported by you and I as we watch this self-serving idiocy.
When you hear a Liberal speaking, listen closely and know who is speaking, and what you are hearing. Is it the "good-bad-or ugly"?
Discern what you are hearing. Recognize the hypocrisy and the lies. And remember, your children are also hearing this vile language and nonsense. Help them understand. We are a Nation of diversity. We live, respect, and accept our differences, and we DO NOT put down those who are different with violent responses, or any inappropriate actions and words.
God Bless America, its' people, and all who long for the freedoms and liberties of our great Nation.
Jean Frances Coulard June 1, 2018
I see where Samantha Bee took words from our own Douglas Needham! How interesting.
What has become of our Civilization?
I'm no Angel. I am the first to admit that. But I am certainly not a rude, vile spewing idiot either. I may have a sarcastic sense of humor, and maybe even a smart alec mouth, but I certainly attempt to remain civil and non-offending. Which is hard to do considering the low behavior of some of our Thurman Board members.
And, oh yes, there is one particular sniveling coward residing in these parts, that saw fit to demean me to save his own hide; but that is for another day -- maybe.
At this time I am referring to the demeanor of our Town Board; and that also of our Entertainment business. This is getting beyond disgusting.
A few in the Government mentioned the Evil in the World. I see now what they were referring to. We have gone way over the line folks. Way over!
The only way I can think of to combat it, is to not watch those putting this garbage on our TV screens.
I see so many complaints about The View. Does anyone realize if they stopped watching their ratings would go down. That would take care of them. But no, we all just keep hitting the remote and indulging ourselves, while later we complain and denounce those who take part on a daily basis, and their guests. Do they care what you say? No, it just tells them you are watching. And that puts money in the bank for them.
You are just as much to blame as they themselves are.
Hypocrisy seems to engulf our world and our lives. Even yours.
