He is now paying the price for this decision. His son, Donald Jr., has made some bad choices, and put his father and the Administration in awkward positions. He may also have put undo strain on his marriage.
And now, his Son-in-Law, husband to daughter Ivanka, has also brought about 'wrinkles of criticism to the West Wing'.
Ivanka herself, seems to be holding her own as an ambassador for her father. She seems to handle the public life and the difficult position of representing her father quite well. But her husband is another story. He soesn't seem to realize that he is representing the people of the United States of America, not his family.
Another Son, Eric stays out of the public picture as best he can, and tends to the family business.
First Lady Melania has been a breath of fresh air in her role. Once again we have a model of excellence; someone the Nation can be proud of; and her love and dedication for her own, and other children of the world, just adds to her appeal.
But, in spite of Melania and "first daughter" Ivanka, the family is bringing undue publicity to our President. And that is something he does not need. He generates enough on his own with the Twitter account.
I can understand the President's desire to keep closest to his side those he trusts. But family can not always be trusted to portray the message as well as someone striving to maintain the public persona. It is possible they also will be in the "family business" mode and tend to make decisions under a different set of rules. As the President is slowly removing the previous administrations "hold-overs", he should also begin relieving his family of the burden of total support. Let them get on with their lives. The pressure may also cause problems for his youngest, Brandon. And in his youth he may not be able to handle the attention in a good way.
Mr. President, let your children go. Send them back to the real family Business; let them forge their way through their own swamp. You have given them all the necessary tools. You are doing a great job for your Country. You have a tough enemy to pursue, but you have many friends and associates that can and will be of tremendous help and assistance.
Please continue to "..drain the swamp..". The criticisms come from those who cannot relate to the Government as a business, which it is; and the possibility of the reality of that, scares them. They need time to digest to the new way of the world. And we must hurry them along. The good Earth will not stop spinning to wait for them to catch up.
Continue your way on the path you have chosen and begun, for you are guided by your people, and by God. He has sent you to clean up the muddied path that most have meandered to; we the people are with you.
May God bless you and aid you in continuing the movement.
