I ain't been feel'n too good for a long time now. I know Mommy Jean thought it was just allergies that my 'regular' Vet told her, and when we moved to Long Island, a different climate would be good.
No Way. Things were just as bad. And then we came back to the Mountain.
Well, my Mommies decided to try a new Vet. They found one that comes to my home!!!!!
So this gal and guy show up one night after we had dinner, and then it started.
Poked and pushed and jabbed me, and then, Oh God, they went up my back end! Have you ever...?
Then they talked to my Mommies for a long time and then they left. I thought thank goodness that's over. Naaaahh, that was too easy for them.
A couple days later and one morning my Mommies got up real early, and then this guy they called Brian came and swooped me up an' into the car.
Oh good gosh. Am I goin' back to that place we just finished living, where that big water pond they call Ocean is?!
It was just a short ride so I guess it was someplace closer.
The door opened, I hopped out, and didn't get any familiar smells! Now what??!
I kinda froze in place; and then mommy Jean put on the leash and collar. I knew then I should have jumped back into the car, but I couldn't!
So off we go into this place. A lady came out and pet me on the head and said " ok Shotzi, let's go." I just looked at my Mommy, she was smiling!!??; and started walking with me, so I figured it was ok.
Well it wasn't! Mommy Jean led me into a "cage". It was plenty big enough, and had a nice soft blanket; but then she took off my leash and shut the door.
Maaann was I scared. Especially when Mommy Jean walked away and left me.
Well, I just decided if I take a nap, no-one would bother me. That didn't last long. Pretty soon that nice lady came and took me out of the cage, and put me on a big cold table, that had a really bright light shinin' on me. Next thing I feel a pinch on my backside!
Well, I don't know what went on, but I woke up in the big cage again. My jaw was feelin' funny! My teeth felt funny!
And my back leg felt funny! (wasn't really "funny")
I was very sleepy and kept taking naps.
Finally, the nice lady called me and took me back into "THAT" room again. She looked me all over and hummed a lot. Then she said "..ok Shotzi...everythings good...". Oh sure, easy for her to say. So she puts me back in that cage again.
I took another nap, and then she woke me, put my leash back on, and I got nervous cause I didn't know what was next. My mouth hurt some, and I was still groggy.
Went into another room, and there was Mommy Jean. She took me outside to our car, and there was Mommy Barbara. WOWeeee!!! this was all good. Some people put me in the car; Mommy Jean got in, an' away we went.
Well, now wait til you hear this. I was not too comfortable but glad to be goin' home. At least I hoped we were!!
When we got there (it was really home), I just jumped out, did my business, and ran to the door.
I right away jumped on my bed (the big one in the big bedroom) and started to nap when I was woke up and something shoved down my throat. That was the beginning.
I heard Mommy Barbara tell somebody on one of those there things they call a fone, that they had to give me 5 & 1/2 pills every morning, 4 & 1/2 after my lunch (which was some kinda "mush") and then another 5 & 1/2 after dinner!(which was the same :mush)
My jaw was feelin' funny, and sometimes my teeth started
to hurt bad. I don't know how Mommy Jean knew that, but she always came an' shoved some pills down my throat and it made everything alright again!
Well, this all went on for awhile, actually a long while. But now I am feeling better. I'm still getting some pills, but my Mommies wrap them in something I really like. So it's not so bad.
Now I'm beginning to itch on one of my legs and someplace behind my ear. My Mommies are talking something about goin back for a checkup and somethin' called stickes "out". I don't know what the heck all that is; but my mouth feels great, and I feel great (except I have a few empty spots in my mouth!
So anyway, that's what I have been goin' through. I don't need any sympathy tho, Porgy has been a good friend, and I feel really a lot better than before. And no more belly itch!!!!
Hey, I been gabbin' too long. I got to go. Thanks for listenin' to me, but Porgy is waiten and it's nap time.
PS: Shotzi had two badly infected teeth and some diseased gum around them, but is just fine now. The Vet and the office staff we found to be absolutely terrific!
