Here we are; another voting year for Thurman. Has anything changed? I think not. We have Mrs. Gail Seaman once again having been disruptive of our Town meetings as a member of the Town Board, running for the position of Town Clerk.
Do you remember when she was a previous member of the Board and Evelyn Wood was Supervisor?
Under her and Mrs. Wood a great deal of damage was precipitated on our beautiful oasis in the Adirondack Mountains. They implemented a lengthy Ethics protocol on the Board Members. It was obviously originally indicated for a large corporation or vast reaching public organization; it certainly was overkill for our lovely little Town.
I refer to Thurman in an affectionate way, and as a "lovely" Town, as that is my true impression of late. Having just spent seven months living on Long Island, I can personally attest to this opinion. The contrast is "mind-blowing". Having grown up on Long Island I was anxious to return, until I got there. It has not 'just changed', it has 'transformed'!!!
Thurman is like a Haven in a wild storm. You may not agree, but the weather is ideal and very safe comparatively speaking. The traffic is enjoyable, (except for the slowpokes going down the Mountain), and the roads are in great shape, again comparatively speaking.
I am gathering background and local information on the candidates for the Town Board, and will be commenting on that situation in the very near future.
Enjoy this beautiful Monday, I will be back!
